Osteoporosis Canada This is the main osteoporosis organization of Canada. It is a not-for-profit association, and their website offers several useful tools such as a dietary calcium calculator and a brief risk assessment quiz.
International Osteoporosis Foundation This International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) is the largest global non-governmental organization dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. The IOF headquarters are located in Nyon, Switzerland.
National Osteoporosis Foundation Established in 1984, the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) is the leading voluntary health organization dedicated to osteoporosis and bone health in the United States. The NOF has various governmental and non-governmental associations.


The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research

This professional and academic society publishes the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research. The society meetings annualy to share information to advance knowledge about osteoporosis.

FRAX – WHO Fracture Risk Assessment Tool The FRAX tool was developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for Metabolic Bone Disease (Sheffield, UK). It is designed to predict 10 year fracture risk based on clinical risk factors and BMD, with data specific to each country.
