A/C Mode (Assist Control)

Parameters Set:
  • Set breathing rate

  • PC or VC


    • Despite a set rate, the patient can trigger an assisted breath at any time.
    The patient’s inspiratory effort is sensed by the ventilator – notice the negative drop in the pressure waveform.
    The A/C rate is set by the physician and determines the number of NON-spontaneous breaths delivered to the patient.
    Note that the pressure waveform may vary in this mode.
