Pressure Targetted SIMV with CPAP
SIMV = Synchronized Intermittent Mechanical Ventilation.
In this mode the respiratory rate and the pressure are set.
The ventilator will deliver the prescribed number of breaths per minute.
In contrast to IMV, these breaths will NOT interfere with the patient’s spontaneous breaths.
Spontaneous breaths may be supported or unsupported.
